Time for a Renovation...

Like I said in my very first blog post yesterday, it's time for something new! I'm preparing for a total renovation... mind, body and spirit. That sounds so new age-y - so let's call it a makeover instead. My makeover began with the delivery of my brand spankin' new Bob-O-Pedic mattress!

It's heavenly in case you're wondering.

With the new mattress, I naturally had to reorganize my bedroom. I'm very happy with the new configuration, which makes my tiny boudoir seem just a teensy bit more spacious, but I made three glaring discoveries: 1. I need new bedding, 2. I need new lamps and 3. I need some artwork up my bare walls.

The Master Bedroom After Rearranging

I've been scouring my favorite online resources to find just the right items. The West Elm Frayed-Edge Quilt, below, is a definite! There's nothing I love more than crisp white bedding and the frayed texture? Be still my heart! All the lamps are from Pottery Barn. I always have a hard time choosing what to buy from PB. In all honesty, I'd just like to move into the catalogue. But I'm really diggin' the three options below. I don't know if I'd choose white, blue or yellow lamps, but they all could work. Decisions, decisions.

I feel confident that this is only the beginning. Most certainly for my bedroom, since I love to layer and build each room piece-by-piece until I can't walk by the room without stopping to admire it. That's when I know I'm just about done. But also for the rest of my home, as well as my wardrobe, my body and maybe my soul if I can find the time.

As I said, I like to start at the beginning of things, so for this new beginning I'm taking you along for the ride. We all want our lives to be beautiful, so maybe some of my aspirations will become your inspirations.

  1. I vote white lamps, although they may seem boring now when you decide to redesign your room again you'll be able to hold onto them. Switching out lamp shades can change the entire look and make them feel brand new every time!!
